Egy jó évtizeddel később Bertrandon is ugyanazt terjesztette (Perry: i. m. 30 ). Figyelemre méltó, hogy

Bertrandon Velence bemutatásakor nem tesz említést a Quadrigáról, csak akkor utal a Velencében lévő

lovakra - akkor is csak mellékesen -, amikor Konstantinápolyban a hajdani hippodromról szóló beszámoló-

ját írja. Ez megmagyarázhatja, miért beszél pusztán három lóról Velencével kapcsolatban. Konstantinápoly-

ban ez idő szerint ugyanis csupán három oszlopot látott, csakhogy, mint kiderült, rossz oszlopokat látott
